“My blood pressure is now normal and I continue to shock people who haven’t seen me for a while. ”
It all started with my daughter's 21st birthday last October and the realisation after looking at the photos that I was overweight. That same week I saw the All About W8 advert in the Daily Express and investigated their website.
I started the diet in November 2009 and followed John Amabile’s diary. He had taken up running and so, after about six weeks into the diet, I felt I should too. I could barely run a bath at that point as I was still carrying a load of excess weight!
At the beginning of January I saw the BUPA Great Manchester Run advertised and decided 10k was a goal I should aim for.
Regular gym sessions and runs helped the weight drop off and so increased my motivation to complete the challenge.
In the main I have managed to stick to the Rapid programme thanks to encouragement from Connie (my Consultant Mentor) and the good choice of shakes and meals – thank goodness for the porridge and cottage pie and also the hints and tips to make mousse and muffins! Leading up to the run I introduced more meals, as I needed some additional intake to give me the energy levels needed for the run.
The race was on 16th May and I not only raised £535 for the NSPCC, but also completed the run in 62 minutes.
My daughter's graduation is in July and I will be treating myself to a new suit! My blood pressure is now normal and I continue to shock people who haven’t seen me for a while.

“I was desperate to lose weight”
I couldn't believe I could be as thin as I was a few years ago, and although I found it hard, I also found it easy. Since losing the weight I have become more confident in myself and the clothes that I wear. This truly is the ONLY diet that has actually worked to get me thin again!

“It really works...”
I have never felt so well, so energised and so satisfied with the way I look. Clothes shopping is incredible and I'm still overwhelmed that in every shop I walk in to I can take my pick of any items and for the first time in years I'm wearing colourful clothing! The most important and valuable lesson I have learned by being on the 'All About W8' programme is that I need to eat something every 3-and-a-half hours and that it takes a little planning to get that right. It has, nonetheless, become a golden rule and it works for me. Considering how far I have come, I'm never going back to my previous weight.
