    What is GI?

GI stands for Glycemic index and is a numerical index from 1-100 that orders carbohydrate foods depending on how quickly they are converted to glucose (blood sugar) in our bodies. The higher the GI number, the more quickly that food causes our blood sugar to rise. Low glycemic index foods release glucose slowly in our system and so help keep our blood glucose levels more stable

Why a low GI diet works to lose weight!

Keeping a fairly constant blood sugar level is very important especially when wanting to lose weight on a diet. If it drops too low you begin to feel tired and hungry and are therefore more likely to snack, and if it rises too high your body can become dehydrated. The key is to eat a low GI diet that will help balance your blood sugar levels throughout the day.

Different people will process food at different rates but it is a fact that people who eat low GI foods generally have lower amounts of body fat overall than people who don't eat foods with a low GI. Following a nutritionally balanced low GI diet plan can help you achieve excellent fat burning results.

Losing weight should be achieved safely and healthily and our low GI diet plans and products have been carefully created to ensure this.
