Why did you choose the All About W8 programme?

I turned 50 years old on 12th of December 2007, and after ...
Health epidemic.

A pre-surgery bariatric diet is designed to:

• Reduce Body Fat - especially the fat around the abdominal mid-section. Since this is the specific surgical area, this is beneficial to the safety of the patient, it also reduces the liver size which is preferred.

• Preserve Lean Body Mass - intake of sufficient amounts of protein is "anti-catabolic". This means that getting adequate protein prevents the body from using lean muscle tissue as an energy source while losing body fat on a calorie restricted diet.

• Prepare the Body for Post-Surgery Recovery - eating healthily, increasing protein intake and avoiding refined carbohydrates, sugars and saturated fats provides the body with beneficial nutrients, vitamins and minerals that will help prepare it for the nutritionally demanding post-bariatric surgery recovery.

• Prepare the Patient for the Post-Surgery Diet - following a reduced calorie, higher protein, lower carbohydrate diet is essentially the way a bariatric surgery patient will be eating for the rest of their life. Therefore, before the surgery is the best time to get used to making healthy food choices and using protein diet supplements that will be needed after surgery.

All About W8 Programme – 4 Mealpaks per day along with a meal from the Add a Meal sheet and half a pint of skimmed milk will give you a high protein diet, whilst restricting your carbohydrate levels and giving your body all the nutrition it needs. This programme is called our Regular Programme

Obesity shortens your life by 9 years

• Wondered why fertility issues are on the increase? It is a fact that 20% of woman visiting fertility clinics are overweight.

• Cancer research has warned that obesity will soon cause more cancers than smoking.

• The National Institute for Clinical Excellence estimates that mortality rates for those with a BMI of 35 and above are twice that of people with a healthy BMI range.

• There has been a six fold increase in prescriptions for obesity drugs over the past few years, all of which have side effects.

We are prone to not only smoking and gambling addictions but also eating addictions, clearly there is not a weight programme that has been effective in helping and treating obesity in the UK, until now!
